AVK’s contribute to the biggest water intake pump station in Anhui

With the continuous development of Hefei, the water consumption in the southwest region also increases. To ensure the safety of urban water supply and alleviate water shortage, Hefei municipal government actively implemented the water supply project from Modun Reservoir to Hefei No.7 Water Plant, which further expanded the drinking water sources in the main urban area of Hefei.

The water supply project will pass through Feixi County, Shushan District and High-tech Zone of Hefei City along the way, starting from Modun Reservoir and ending at Hefei No.7 Water Plant. With a total investment of 1.041 billion yuan, it is designed to be transported by two pipes with a single pipe length of about 36.5 kilometers. The main construction content includes water delivery pipelines, water intake pump stations, housing construction, power supply facilities and related supporting projects.

The water intake pump station of Modun Reservoir is the largest single water intake pump station in the Anhui province, with a large volume and the deepest point up to 16 meters below, which is equivalent to the height of 5 floors of ordinary residential buildings. Today, the water intake pump station of Modun Reservoir has been completed with a daily capacity of 600, 000 cubic meters, lifting raw water to the Hefei No.7 Water Plant and the Da Guantang Water Plant in Feixi County, located in the high-tech zone's Nangang Town. It has greatly satisfied the economic development and people's domestic water demand of Hefei city, which is of great significance to solve the water supply source of Hefei city through multiple channels.
