AVK China delivered the biggest size Penstock to BMW rainwater collection project 18-06-2021
BMW brilliance Tiexi new plant project is one of the seven largest foreign investment projects in China as well as the landmark project under construction in Liaoning Province. According to the plan, the new Tiexi plant has an overall construction area of 3 square kilometers. When it is completed and put into operation in 2022, the new Tiexi plant, together with the existing Tiexi plant, Dadong plant, powertrain plant and R&D center, will bring a richer product line and significant capacity enhancement to the Shenyang production base, which can respond to changes in market demand in more intelligent and flexible manner.
According to the "Interim Provisions on Strengthening the Use of New Construction Projects in Cities and Water Resources", new construction, renovation, expansion projects are advised to consider the use of rainwater utilization measures. If the scale of the construction project meets the requirements, rainwater utilization equipment must be set up.
The rainwater collection tank of BMW Brilliance's new Tiexi plant is a key means to control the process of initial rainwater interception, storage and discharge into the municipal rainwater network. Due to the super scale of the rainwater collection tank and design flow rate, it is of great importance to choose the right Penstock for core controlling function. AVK China team combined site survey and fluid mechanics analysis to provide the customer with a perfect product selection and application solution. It is ensuring the on-time delivery and stable operation of the project effectively.
In this project, AVK offered Penstock MU up to 2.6*2.8m to precisely regulate the flow of rainwater in the tank, which greatly solved the water problem of plant production while reducing the pollution of plant water. It is an economical and practical way to utilize water resources.
The AVK Penstock MU features a unique lip-type rubber seal design that ensures a low-torque seal on the valve plate during operation.The insert design provides better adjustment characteristics than the wedge seal design and reduces Penstock jerking during movement to extend service life.
The special lip seal ensures minimum forward and reverse leakage.
